less than 1 minute, for home barista, it is acceptable.
of course, after you flushed the group and assume you use 88-92 degree water for brewing.
leva 2 if fully heat up, you should ??????????..
for leva 1, ideal method is frothing first, then flush with less time...
Vibration and Rotary pump are big different.
0 - 16bar - 0 - 16bar - 0 - 16bar ........
9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 bar ........
I hope the above number are no big difference with actual brewing.
I think Vib/Rota biggest differences are in the pre-infusion ....

leva 1 is heat exchange machine.
I think the stream is always available in both machines.
Some even said that HX machines have more powerful stream.

I used UK made food grade plastic pipes and parts to install a filter system before the machine <- inline installation.
10-20ft.
of course, this is an after renovation / no plan set up there are some pipes show up.
rotary pump does better pre-infusion of course !!
there is one theory must correct to me, water source once contacts with air/ dust, 100% clean ??
the tank ?? user make sure they keep using the machine everyday all the time forever ??
good luck to your tank decision for such machine..

Q1- Yes, close system is best and cleanest.
thats why commercial machines are direct inline installed.
Q2- why vibration pump ?? due to weaker and worse preinfusion.
Q3- ????water tank??????water filter?OK? Water filtered -> clean and then contact with AIR / dust, I am not sure it is ok for you or NOT.
to me, NOT ok at all.
Water is clean after water factory and protected by Chlorine out from your tap at home in HONG KONG,
after filtered the chlorine and nothing protect the water then mix with air and dust and other dirts, not sure it is ok for you or not really..
Q4- all depends on you want to DIY or not DIY ???
DIY, you do some homework yourself.
NOT DIY, please send me PM, the photos of your water pipes of your home, what is closest pipe near the machine etc etc detail photos. And see the possibility to install a direct water to the espresso machine.

*** if thinking of a tank E61 machine, other manual lever espresso is the best choice for espresso making *** non milk drinker !!
I have normal home espresso machine La Cimbali Domus similar to Gaggia Classic, E61 HX direct inline installed, Olympia Express C67 & Club , la peppina, brunella, Conti COMO Cafe lever. To be honest, lever / spring lever makes exceptional better espresso than E61 whatever which type it is. of course, if you are a milk drink, you may need a stronger and more stable steamer espresso maker...
side by side, espresso maker, even 60-70's spring home espresso maker win !! E61 is a good machine overall, but for espresso only, LEVA is the best !!

Thanks for the information. The first thing I need to consider is which machine suits my requirement. I'm an espresso drinker but my families are milk drinkers. |
