Hello Eddie,
I think the steam wand could be changed, you need to do some search.
But, if the answer is NO at the end.
How many holes on the tip ?
if more than 2, I suggest to remove the steam wand and find a metal workshop to close the other 1 or 2 holes with BRASS or any FOOD GRADED material.
On the other hand, when fully heat up the machine turned it ON up to 20 minutes and did some flush with the group hot water and steam wand few times, once finished brewing hot water for steam, steam immediately !!.
Since the steam will be gone very fast.

Use wooden toothpicks to close the other frothing tip's holes for temporary use. 1-2 holes are enough for a 300cc jug.

I haven't use it before, but i am sure the machine is similar to two krups.

I can use a plastic tamper to brew a shot of espresso equal in quality to an espresso shot brewed with a metal tamper, trust me.
