very expensive ar, but very useful. but...... all i know the xxx digital probe thermometer sampling rate no too fast.
i know a very cheapest way to check the temperature, the result same as this kits.
only 2 things to do, check the length of the screw and drill the hole inside the screw, just HK$10.
i can buy the screw but anyone help me to drill the hole?

Thanks for Shing's views. But it seems even Shing had not tried this thermocouple adaptor.
I have the following idea:
1. the sampling rate of a thermocouple is determined by the meter it attached to.
2. the original screw is a hex one. Once drilled and inserted with TC, there is no place for the hex key.
3. Special screw similar to Eric's is required.
4. The depth of insertion of the TC cannot be adjusted if not fixed by ferrule or similar.
So, Eric's design looks good but not the price.

tried from bib apartment.
1. you cant buy another digital thermometer to replace the eric's design.
2. i dont know how to tell you that so easy to place the tc inside the hole......
3. you can buy any other type that equal the size of eric's design, you can buy the special screw from there http://www.swagelok.com. price around hk$60 ~ 90.
4. i mean hk$10.00 screw.......... i mean.. for example, check the depth is 10mm, then go to reclamation buy m6 x 10mm
ps. if you mind the thermometer probe or thermocouple no good enough from eric's design, dont buy other tools to replace it, the screw of eric's design just fit 1/8" in. OD, if your tube or probe is 3/32", it will leak even .... when pressure up to 4 bar, probe will jump out from the screw, if up to 9 bar, it will very very dangerous.

i think a lot of this parts, i discuss with some prof. and result is very dangerous, design is ok but some machine pressure about 12 bar or upper.
